A SACRED JOURNEY THROUGH THE HIMALAYAS

Char Dham Yatra • 11–22 October 2026

Last year, we were blessed to complete a beautiful pilgrimage through India, and since then many of you have asked: “Are you going back to India this year?”

The answer is yes and the way this journey has come together is beautiful.

Over the past few months, we have repeatedly received guidance and inspiration to journey into the Himalayan region through Rishikesh and onwards into Uttarakhand. During a recent prayer to Lalita Tripura Sundari, a very clear vision emerged of the pilgrimage we are now preparing to undertake.

What makes this journey particularly special is that we didn’t design the dates around Navaratri.

The dates came together for completely practical and different reasons and only afterwards did we discover that our journey falls directly across Navaratri, beginning immediately after Pitru Paksha.

THE GRACE OF DIVINE MOTHER • THE CHAR DHAM • A JOURNEY WITHIN
We will travel through the sacred Himalayan landscape visiting:
• Yamunotri
• Gangotri
• Kedarnath
• Badrinath

along with Haridwar, Uttarkashi, Guptkashi, Mana Village, Rudraprayag, Devprayag and Rishikesh.

This is not intended to be a rushed Char Dham tour, but journey inwards.

The traditional pilgrimage can involve long days of driving, basic mountain accommodation and a very demanding pace. We have therefore taken the time to create something different, a more comfortable, spacious and deeply contemplative pilgrimage.

We have chosen the best available accommodation along the route, private transport, carefully considered daily distances and time to actually be present in the places we are visiting. There will still be the mountain roads, the altitude, the walking and the physical challenge because these are part of the pilgrimage. But we want to experience them with awareness rather than exhaustion.

AND THEN THERE IS THE DIVINE MOTHER

The grace of Divine Mother adds an extraordinary dimension to this journey.
Our pilgrimage begins during Navaratri, moving day by day through the nine manifestations of the Divine Mother.

And as we began looking at the itinerary, we discovered remarkable connections between the places we would physically be visiting and the Devi honoured on each day. We will find ourselves at Gangotri during Skandamata, the Mother of Skanda.
We will climb towards Kedarnath during Kalaratri, the fierce remover of darkness and fear and we will experience Kedarnath during Mahagauri, the radiant form of Parvati — the Divine Mother united with Shiva.

The beauty of the grace is non of this was planned.
It simply unfolded.

This journey is for those who feel called to go deeper, to walk beside the Himalayan rivers, to sit in ancient temples, to experience the Divine Ganga Aarti, to make the long ascent towards Kedarnath, to stand at Badrinath and Mana, to visit the caves associated with Sage Vyasa and Ganeshji, to experience the meeting of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda at Devprayag and finally to descend to Rishikesh, where the pilgrimage comes to its completion.

We will travel together, meditate together, share meals and experiences, and allow the Himalayas themselves to become part of the journey.

KRIYA YOGA

Throughout the ages, Mahavatar Babaji has given different kriya techniques to many masters, in accordance with the needs of humanity at the time.

Without Kriya Shaktiphat, our spiritual effort is like trying to grow a tree in the desert however, with the grace of the masters and the practising of Kriya Yoga this effort suddenly becomes a flourishing oasis in the desert where the fruits of realising the soul manifest in this life.

JANGAMA DHYANA

That which is given by Shiva to realise the truth of existence. When the mind has been trained to stay fixed in a certain internal place, it comes with the power to flow in an uninterrupted current, towards that point. This state is called dhyana (meditation). When one has intensified both the power of dhyana and is able to reject the outer part of perception and remain meditating only on the inner part, that state is called Samadhi.

MANTRA

Using a mantra can help quiet the anxious thoughts that may be racing through your mind. Taking a moment to clear your head and focus on any of these mantra’s can transport you to a more peaceful mental space. By the time you finish your repetitions, you’ll likely feel ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead. Mantras can effectively clear your mind and help you stay present fostering a positive mindset. We are constantly in the studio recording new Mantras for you or regualrly holding Mantra evenings around Cape Town.
